What’s in my report?

We provide a comprehensive weights report, covering 9 key metrics for safety and compliance with relevant authorities. Weighbridge tickets can be provided for use with Road and Traffic Authorities and VASS Engineers. All weights are accurate to the kilogram, using state-of-the-art digital equipment. In addition to the compliance metrics, we cover issues such as weight distribution and also general travel safety advice.

  • Drive A Weigh documents the weight of your vehicle to ensure compliance & safety on the road. To do this, we measure:

    ✔ Individual wheel weights

    ✔ Individual axle weights

    ✔ Gross Vehicle Mass

    ✔ Gross Combined Mass

    ✔ Weight distribution (left/right & front/back)

    ✔ Payload available (if any)

    The Drive A Weigh team will go through the report with you and discuss general recommendations, including those relating to improved weight distribution.

    Most importantly, they will highlight specific changes that may be necessary to make your set up safe and legal.

How long will it take?

  • A full weigh & report for a vehicle & caravan takes approximately 1.5-2.5 hours.

  • A full weigh & report for a caravan takes approximately 1-1.5 hour.

  • A full weigh & report for a marine craft takes approximately 1 hour.

  • A full weigh & report for a horse float takes approximately 1 hour.

  • A full weigh & report for a tiny home takes approximately 1-2 hours.

  • A full weigh & report for a commercial trailer takes approximately 1-2 hours.

  • A full weigh & report for machinery takes approximately 1-2 hours.

How can you prepare?

  • Prior to your booking, prepare details such as your vehicle and caravan make, model and registration information.

  • If you have made any modifications or upgrades which impact the manufacturer specifications, please bring all relevant certifications and information

  • Select a weighing location that is as flat and even as possible (not stones or grass). Uneven or cracked surfaces can impact the reliability of the data.

  • The area selected must be at least two times the combined length of the hitched car and trailer/caravan.
